I love the look and feel of gemstones: precious, semi-precious, and organic; not for me to wear, but to work with, so that others might enjoy them too. Everything from agates to zoisite comes into my workshop to later emerge as unusual hand crafted jewelry for women who can wear beautiful and bold pieces, or tiny Lilliputian whispers of understatement.
I’ve been designing and making jewelry for boutiques and high-end jewelry shops in resort hotels and spas for several years, and this is my first website.
For years I’ve come to rely on the internet as a way to access really unique gemstones, fossils, and mineral specimens from all over the world. Sapphires, rubies, and emeralds from Delhi, India; pearls from Hong Kong; fossils from Africa, and stalactites from South America.
Eventually it occurred to me that if I could buy so many items via my computer, with which to make my jewelry, I could sell my finished work the same way. Unfortunately my computer skills are definitely of the point-and-click variety and I had no clue as to the amount of work involved in getting a website up and running. My experience with photography is rudimentary at best; my abilities at re-touching said photos is limited to making them ‘lighter’ or ‘darker’ and cropping them. I should have started this project last January to have the 400 – 500 items I wanted listed in time for the holidays. I’ll be lucky to have a third of that accessible. Still, it’s a start and that’s often the hardest part.
However, I’m listing a number of things I’ve designed which I think will be appreciated for, or as, a gift, since it’s that time of year. And I’ve added several exotic items I’ve discovered while shopping around the world. I found a source of Baltic Amber bracelets and rings in Lithuania that are not only very unusual and beautiful, but true Baltic Amber and I’ve included many of those as well. (See Amber in FAQ’s).
Meanwhile, I have some 200 different gemstones and their varieties from which to choose for my new designs. I’ll be making a few new pieces available two or three times a week. So be sure to remember my address and drop by from time to time to see what’s new before it disappears.
Thank you, and have a marvelous Holiday Season,
Glenn
