Mookaite Jasper Necklace #5

One-Of-A-Kind

Mookaite received it's common name from Mooka Station, a large sheep farm of some 700,000 acres on the west side of the Kennedy Range in Western Australia, where it was found in outcrops. The brilliant colors of this silified and multi-colored radiolarian siltstone made it very popular for objets d'art, including jewelry. It's proper name is Windalia Radiolarite.

The way these colors swirl around and meld into one another makes this one of my favorites. Again, the focal stones are worked into a strand of like-minded beads arranged in a simple pattern. Finished with a brass 'J' hook and a gold-filled chain.
