One-Of-A-Kind
Pyrite Suns, A.K.A. Pyrite Dollars, are found in deposits of shale between seams of coal in the mines near Sparta, Illinois near the 300 foot level. Dated to some 300 million years ago, scientists are not sure of their origin. The prevalent theory is that they are an undetermined fossil that has been replaced by pyrite.
Whatever their pedigree, they are beautiful. This one is approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter and I've had it mounted on a gold frame, added black onyx rounds and antique rondelles and finished it with an ornate box clasp.
Gift Box Included!!
